Data Engineer - Stockholm
Build the data platform that drives the future of public transport
Keolis is responsible for public transport that moves thousands of people in Stockholm every day. Behind every bus, depot, and traffic flow, there is a vast amount of data. We are now strengthening our Advanced Analytics team and looking for a Data Engineer who wants to help build a robust and scalable data platform in Azure.
About the role
As a Data Engineer with us, you will work closely with the business to ensure a stable flow of information from buses, depot systems, and other operational sources into our lakehouse environment.
You will build and maintain data pipelines in Databricks, develop notebooks for transformation, and optimize flows to efficiently handle large volumes of data. The role involves both new development and further development of existing structures, focusing on quality, performance, and sustainable architecture. Our data platform is built in Azure with Databricks and a lakehouse architecture based on bronze, silver, and gold models.
You will be part of the Advanced Analytics team at our headquarters in Kungsholmen and work closely with analysts and the business. The role involves significant personal responsibility and the opportunity to influence how we develop our data architecture moving forward.
Your responsibilities
- Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines in Databricks
- Develop transformations in Python and PySpark
- Ensure data quality and performance in large datasets
- Further develop our lakehouse architecture
- Work closely with the business to translate needs into technical solutions
- Participate in and drive technical improvements in our data platform
We are looking for someone who
- Has experience working as a Data Engineer in a production environment
- Is proficient in Python, SQL, and PySpark
- Has worked on building and maintaining pipelines
- Has experience with lakehouse architecture and bronze, silver, and gold models
- Is familiar with Azure and Databricks
- Has a good ability to work in Swedish, both spoken and written
It is a merit if you have worked with performance optimization of large datasets, Git/GitHub, Power BI, or in agile and cross-functional teams.
Working method
You work independently and take responsibility for your solutions from design to production. At the same time, you are part of a team where we share knowledge, review code, and develop the platform together. You are used to explaining technical solutions clearly, whether you are talking to analysts or the business.
Location
The role is based at our headquarters in Kungsholmen, Stockholm. We work in a hybrid model and expect you to be on-site several days a week.
