About Us and Your Responsibilities
The Memory Clinic is a specialist clinic with teamwork where nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, and secretaries collaborate to investigate individuals with suspected dementia according to national guidelines. You will be the contact nurse for patients connected to the Memory Clinic, which involves following up on prescribed medications, providing continuous advice to patients and relatives regarding dementia and its consequences in daily life. You will also have close collaboration with the municipalities' dementia nurses and case managers. You are also responsible for continuously registering new visits and follow-ups in SveDem – a national quality register for dementia diseases.
Acute Geriatric Department
The Acute Geriatric Department has 16 beds divided into two care teams where nurses and nursing assistants share responsibility for 8 patients. Geriatrics is a large field, and we encounter patients with many different diagnoses. Given that we care for multi-ill elderly patients, a holistic view is therefore important. Teamwork is also a crucial factor here, and we have weekly team rounds to plan care goals together with the patient's needs in focus. As a nurse, your responsibilities include medication administration, nursing care, central access, wound dressings, blood transfusions, and supervision of students. With us, you will have good opportunities to develop and vary your tasks in collaboration with the entire team.
You will alternate between ward work and clinic work. The clinic also has several appreciated support functions such as discharge coordinators, care leaders, and meal hosts.
Your Competence
We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with specialized training in dementia care. We place great emphasis on personal qualities where we assume that you are responsible, independent, can lead yourself but are also a team member since we work in teams. We want you to be solution-focused and have a good approach and empathy for patients and their relatives in a difficult situation and in crisis.
Employment Form
Permanent employment at 100%, or other agreement. Start date according to agreement. The time is distributed between the Memory Clinic and the Acute Geriatric Department. Weekend work is included in the work on the geriatric department.
