Youth Coordinator for Young Focus in Danderyd

The Culture and Leisure Department within the Education Administration consists of approximately 100 employees who work to provide the residents of Danderyd with access to meaningful leisure activities and enriching cultural experiences. Our areas of operation include Young Focus, cultural school, library, sports and leisure, as well as association and cultural support.

Young Focus in Danderyd Municipality is an organization of 17 employees, and the operations consist of outreach youth coordinators, a demo cultural and activity house, a youth center with open activities aimed at grades 5-6, an LSS operation, and a senior activity. All under the leadership of the Young Focus youth manager.

We are now looking for a youth coordinator who wants to work with young people and contribute to creating a meaningful and health-promoting leisure time. In the role of youth coordinator, you will conduct outreach work during daytime, evenings, and weekends in places where young people are located, focusing on building relationships and creating safety for young people in the municipality. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Based on your assignment and in the role of youth coordinator, you will work operationally with a focus on health-promoting and preventive work. You will regularly conduct outreach work and be present in the environments where young people are, with the goal of creating good relationships.

The youth coordinators as a group may have different assignments but work towards the same goal, the well-being of young people in accordance with the municipality's Child and Youth Strategy. The assignment is varied and based on a flexible working method and a wide variety of tasks. The assignment may vary according to the municipality's and the organization's needs.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Fieldwork on evenings and weekends
• Outreach work
• Giving lectures and conducting workshops in school classes and participating in change work regarding youth issues such as ANDTS (alcohol, narcotics, drugs, tobacco, and gambling) and value-based work
• Collaborating with other stakeholders in youth issues
• Cooperating with young people, colleagues, other stakeholders in the municipality, and guardians
• Planning, communicating, and implementing activities and youth events

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a trained social worker, social educator, leisure leader, or has other relevant education that the employer deems equivalent
• Has 2-3 years of documented experience in youth work and fieldwork.
• Is comfortable and experienced in giving presentations
• Has a manual B driver's license

It is an advantage if you have:

• Documented experience in project creation from start to finish (promotional work)
• Very good computer skills
• Training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) and experience applying MI in practice
• Training in and experience working with ABC Teen and the ability to lead parent support groups
