Social Worker for the Social Psychiatry Group

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Our part of the city is located between the lakes Drevviken and Magelungen. Here, the Farsta district administration employs 1,400 dedicated staff who now need a new colleague. With us, you will be close to both subway and commuter trains, shops, and restaurants. And close to a swim in the summer and long-distance skating in the winter.

Welcome to us

As one of our employees has moved to another city, we are looking for a social worker for the Social Psychiatry Group.

This position suits you if you are interested in the target group, find secure legal processing exciting, and see collaboration as a given in the work with our clients' path to an independent life. You will work alongside colleagues who have a commitment to the target group and experience that provides a secure work environment.

The Dependency and Social Psychiatry unit works with adults aged 18-65 who need support due to addiction, long-term mental disabilities, and/or criminality. The unit is divided into two groups: dependency investigation and social psychiatry investigation. In addition, there is a housing coordinator and a digital guide, as well as a group leader and unit manager. Daily work is led by the group leader.

We investigate interventions according to SoL, and the most common interventions are housing support, employment, and various forms of supported housing. The Social Psychiatry Group consists of 8 social workers.

We offer

The administration offers good wellness opportunities through a grant of 3000 SEK. In Farsta center, there are several wellness providers that make it easy to utilize your grant. The group has regular supervision, which is an important wellness factor. The work includes close leadership with weekly group meetings, extra availability time, and individual reviews with the manager every 4 weeks.

We offer a good introduction with mentorship. We apply winter and summer working hours and have flexible working agreements. We are a structured organization with written routines, guiding documents, and support documents. The city offers introductory training for new employees.

Your role

As one of the group's employees, you will investigate the right to assistance and follow up on the granted interventions. Your work is based on the legislation and knowledge support available, and your assessments are made based on evidence. The goals of the organization are permeated by professionalism, which means you have a good approach and secure legal processing. We actively work to achieve good collaboration with other actors, both with external parties and internally within the administration. This occurs, among other things, through internal SIPs and collaboration groups at both management and caseworker levels, for the best results for the client.

We constantly work to develop our operations with the clients' best interests in focus and with high participation from employees. In our unit, we have active case discussions both through individual meetings with the immediate manager and case discussions in groups. The work means that you work independently and systematically by planning, organizing, and prioritizing. You will be part of the city's work in the transition to a new social services law.

Your qualifications and experience

You have a degree in social work with a commitment to the target group of social psychiatry. If you have worked with authority exercise, are secure in the authority role, and have good knowledge of the legislation in the area, it is an advantage.

You are clear in your communication and can easily express yourself in writing. You are calm, secure, and relationship-building, and you have a very good ability to establish contact with people in vulnerable situations where a good approach is a given for you. You are interested and have previous experience working with complex issues, can analyze situations, and make decisions.

You have a very good ability to collaborate and relate to others in a responsive manner, as well as the ability to collaborate with other professions, always with the individual in focus. It is advantageous if you have experience with the target group, DUR, and Paraplyet.

The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
