The agency has recently established its own operations, and development of a new road traffic register and long-term security-enhancing measures is underway. You will

  • analyze and develop the department's ability to handle crises, wars, and heightened preparedness
  • coordinate and develop the department's crisis management
  • work with security protection issues
  • develop requirements for continuity and preparedness areas
  • provide support in continuity management to the department's operations and sections
  • coordinate and develop risk and vulnerability analysis work within the department
  • plan and conduct training initiatives and exercises for our staff related to your area
  • coordinate planning for special events within the department
  • represent the IT department in collaboration forums and working groups for the agency in your areas
  • collaborate with all agency operations and, if necessary, other authorities or organizations
  • establish and manage governing documents within your area
  • review and process internal and external referrals within the area
  • produce situational reports and be responsible for reporting.

You must have

  • relevant post-secondary education or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
  • comprehensive and broad IT competence acquired through many years of experience in the industry
  • documented experience of work focused on crisis and preparedness areas
  • good knowledge of Swedish total defense planning, security protection legislation, and other regulations in the area
  • experience in working with risk and vulnerability analyses
  • good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is meritorious if you also have

  • education in one or more areas such as staff service, security protection, continuity, advanced course in total defense (HK 1)
  • experience as a staff manager in crisis management
  • knowledge regarding cybersecurity
  • experience in preparedness planning within public operations
  • experience in continuity work within the IT area
  • experience working with frameworks and standards such as ISO 27002, NIS2.

More information

The employment is permanent with placement in Örebro. Appointment according to agreement. We normally apply a probationary period. As an employee with us, there is an opportunity to work remotely up to three days a week. The needs of the operations and the nature of the tasks will determine whether and to what extent this is possible. An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the security protection law (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our tasks in a security class, Swedish citizenship is required.

About Transportstyrelsen

Number of employees: Approximately 2000.

Areas of operation: Transportstyrelsen works to achieve good accessibility, high quality, safe, and environmentally friendly transport within rail, aviation, shipping, and road. We develop regulations, grant permits, and monitor compliance. With the help of our registers, we work with fees, permits, and ownership changes.

Locations: We have employees in 12 locations across the country. The largest part of the operations is in Borlänge, Norrköping, and Örebro. The head office is located in Norrköping.

About the IT department

The IT department consists of five units with associated sections. We are about 300 employees.

We support all departments within Transportstyrelsen both strategically and operationally in IT matters. We work with architecture, system development, management, and operation of IT systems as well as infrastructure.
