About the workplace

In Allerum, just outside Helsingborg, lies the group home Nils Poppes väg. The residence has two wings with space for five residents in each wing. In wing 1, tenants with challenging behavior live and need a lot of structure. In wing 2, we have tenants with extensive care needs, and here sensitivity and routines are required. Collaboration between the wings is common, so you should be prepared to support colleagues during the day.

Job responsibilities

As a support assistant, you work to create quality care and are expected to work with all senses to contribute to a rich, exciting, active, and independent life for people with disabilities. You will be the extended arm of our residents in their daily lives, which may involve providing support in various activities, with hygiene, assisting during meals, and ensuring that medication is taken as needed. This requires sensitivity but also being particularly skilled at building trust-based relationships with our residents.

We work with great respect for the user's integrity and tailor support according to the user. You follow the implementation plans for each resident so that they can have the best possible life. The work is planned, documented, and closely monitored, so it is important that you feel confident in documentation.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a high school diploma from the health and care program or has studied the child and leisure program with a focus on social and pedagogical work.

To proceed in the process, you also need to have:

• experience working within LSS as well as challenging and outwardly aggressive behavior
• basic computer skills and documentation experience
• good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• a B driver's license and access to a car; if you do not have access to a car, you need to have another way to get to the workplace (which is not accessible via public transport).

It is an advantage if you have previously worked with people who have extensive care needs.
