The mission of the Social Administration is to work with social services and provide support so that everyone in the municipality feels safe and has the same opportunities in life. As an activity leader, you play an important role in breaking social isolation and helping our visitors feel seen, involved, and included.

Our target group is primarily adults seeking social belonging, structure, or support in their daily lives. The purpose of the meeting place is to offer a safe environment where visitors can develop their abilities, participate in activities, and feel included – based on their own conditions, without demands.

Job Responsibilities

The purpose of the role of activity leader is to create a safe, inclusive, and meaningful meeting place for people with mental health issues. The role should promote community, participation, and recovery through social, cultural, and health-promoting activities. The activity leader contributes to counteracting isolation and strengthening the individual's sense of coherence, without exercising authority or providing individual assistance.

As an activity leader in social psychiatry, you have the following responsibilities and main tasks:

• Plan, implement, and develop activities together with participants
• Create a safe and welcoming environment where participants feel seen and included
• Support participation and influence in the content and design of the activities
• Work recovery-oriented and salutogenic
• Collaborate with colleagues in social psychiatry as well as external actors and associations
• Be responsible for the practical coordination of activities, venues, and materials
• Document operational information according to applicable routines

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, a high school education in care and nursing, social work, pedagogy, leisure activities, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer is required. Additionally, experience working with people with mental health issues or other psychosocial problems is required. Given the nature of the work, a good ability to express oneself in Swedish, both orally and in writing, is necessary. Experience in planning, implementing, leading, and coordinating group activities based on participants' interests and needs is also required. Basic documentation skills and IT knowledge (e.g., operational systems, email, Office) are necessary.

For the position, personal qualities such as maturity and stability, along with social skills like empathy, the ability to build trusting relationships, and inclusive community are valued. You need to act in a collaborative and service-oriented manner, with the ability to both creatively and structurally plan and organize the activities in a way that creates clarity and predictability for the participants. You can creatively develop new activities and working methods that promote participation and engagement.

Desirable for the position are: Post-secondary education in social psychiatry, public health, leisure leadership, or similar, experience working at a meeting place, gathering point, or open activity, and/or experience of user influence or co-creation working methods, as well as a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle.
