JOB DESCRIPTION

As a support assistant, you work according to LSS to provide adult users with a good quality of life and an active everyday life. This means positively encouraging, stimulating, and engaging each person towards increased independence and participation, as well as creating continuity and security.

Your work includes being responsible for care based on individual needs and supporting them with personal hygiene, meals, cleaning, community contacts, and support during leisure activities. It is important that you are attentive to the signals you receive and that you encourage the person to express their own will. We see having a humble approach and valuing good collaboration as self-evident.

The role of support assistant suits you if you can work irregular hours, meaning scheduled hours on weekends, evenings, days, and nights.

In your assignment, you are also a contact person for some of the users, which means you have contact with guardians, are responsible for implementation plans, and participate in meetings. You are also an important part of developing the operations.

The LSS residence is located in Skåne-Tranås.

QUALIFICATIONS

A high school education in the child and leisure program or the health and care program is required for the position. It is advantageous if you have training in disabilities, behavioral science, or psychiatry. It is also advantageous if you have training and/or experience working with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF). Knowledge or experience of Alternative Augmentative Communication is a plus.

You also need to have experience in the field and the ability to act in a low-arousal manner.

A prerequisite for potentially proceeding with employment as a support assistant is that you pass the medication test, both written and oral, as well as the practical part for medication delegation in Tomelilla municipality.

We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in other people and is responsible, caring, and meticulous. You are attentive, good at communicating, and can meet your surroundings warmly; you should be secure in yourself and have good self-awareness. Being able to work according to clear and agreed routines is important, as is good collaboration skills since we work both independently and in teams.

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

You must master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues in both speech and writing.

In your work, it is expected that you are engaged and proactive in the ongoing improvement work for increased quality at both the individual and operational levels.

To work in health and care, a valid extract from the criminal record is required.
