The Day Activity Vännen in Norrevång, Skåne-Tranås, is a safe and meaningful meeting place for people with dementia. The operation aims to strengthen the individual's resources, create structure in everyday life, and provide social community in a calm, respectful, and person-centered environment.

As a new colleague, you will become part of a dedicated and close-knit team with various competencies, experiences, and backgrounds. We work closely together and place great importance on collaboration, open communication, and a professional approach, where each employee's perspective is valuable.

The operation is conducted in adapted and cozy premises at Norrevång, with access to both common areas and the local environment that allows for variation in activities.

The day is shaped according to the participants' needs, interests, and daily condition and may include social interaction, conversations, creative activities, music, movement, and everyday tasks that enhance safety, participation, and well-being.

The position is 80% at the Day Activity Vännen. The remaining time up to full-time consists of resource shifts in other units within elderly care in Tomelilla municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a staff member in day activities for people with cognitive impairments, you will work to create safe, meaningful, and structured days for the participants. The work involves planning and implementing individualized activities, providing support in social interactions and everyday situations, and contributing to a calm and predictable environment.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues, notice changes in the participants' well-being, and document according to current routines. To thrive in the role, you need to enjoy working person-centered, be attentive, flexible, and have an interest in people with cognitive impairments.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is calm, secure, and responsible in your professional role. You are empathetic, creative, and proactive, with a good ability to take responsibility for your work. As a person, you find it easy to collaborate with others while also enjoying working independently. You have the ability to see each participant and can plan the day based on individuals' needs, aiming to preserve and strengthen the individual's abilities.

To be considered for the position, the following is required:

  • Education as a care assistant or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Previous work experience in day activities, dementia care, or similar operations
  • Basic knowledge of cognitive impairments and dementia diseases
  • Ability to work person-centered and adapt responses and activities to the individual's needs
  • Good ability to collaborate with colleagues and guests
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Swedish both orally and in writing
  • Ability to document according to current routines

It is meritorious if you:

  • Are a trained specialist care assistant, for example, with a focus on dementia, elderly care, or psychiatry
  • Have education or experience as an elderly pedagogue
  • Have advanced knowledge in person-centered care, low-arousal responses, or cognitive support
  • Have experience planning and implementing activities in groups and individually
  • Experience in documentation in the Combine system
