Make a difference. Every day.
Are you passionate about orthopedic patients and interested in advancing our development together with the team? We are looking for two nursing assistants with different focuses to join us in the orthopedic department in Ystad, one for student supervision and one with educational responsibility for the workgroup. Do you want to work in an engaged and interprofessional team where learning, development, and patient safety are at the center? Then this could be the position for you.
We are an orthopedic inpatient department with an emergency mission for orthopedics around the clock every day of the week, within the area of (VO) surgery - orthopedics, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), intensive and perioperative care at the Hospital in Ystad. The department has 14 inpatient beds and primarily cares for patients with everyday trauma injuries such as hip fractures but also patients with other surgical and medical conditions.
We are a department that values knowledge sharing, collaboration, and improvement work. With us, you will be part of an engaged and supportive interprofessional team, and we offer opportunities for development in supervision and pedagogical methods. You will work in an organization with short decision-making paths and with present leadership. Our workgroup has a strong focus and experience in supporting and guiding colleagues and students. The hospital in Ystad has an educational unit, and during the semesters, we welcome a number of students for clinical placements (VFU). In the orthopedic department, we work with student rooms and peer learning, which is a popular concept among our students. Within the area, there are also surgery and urology departments, surgical departments for planned operations, operating rooms, anesthesia, and intensive care units, as well as clinics with which we have good collaboration. With us, you have the opportunity for both professional and personal development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The interprofessional collaboration is central to the unit and plays a crucial role in our patients' recovery. Patient-centered care is promoted through our interdisciplinary rounds and nursing rounds. Our goal is to increase patients' and relatives' participation in care and enhance their knowledge about their illness and treatment. We have structured care pathways for our most common patient categories and continuously strive to be at the forefront regarding evidence-based care. Our department's responsible doctors are engaged in the department's development and work closely with the team on various improvement projects. As a nursing assistant with us, you will be offered an exciting and varied job in orthopedic inpatient care for orthopedic patients at different stages of the care chain. An important part of the mission is to contribute to learning in everyday life through supervision of students, new employees, and colleagues, as well as actively supervising in peer learning in our student rooms.
In the role of educationally responsible nursing assistant, you will help develop the structures for staff competence development in the department together with our educationally responsible nurse. You will also participate in the implementation of an already developed regional competence and service model for nursing assistants. For the role of nursing assistant focused on student supervision, you will ensure that students receive a structured, educational, and safe clinical placement with us. You will work in our student team consisting of main supervisors, clinical teachers, and supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's requirements for protected professional title, regardless of whether you have studied according to previous or current program structure. If you have experience planning and conducting training and/or have a supervisor education, we see that as a positive. Likewise, if you have experience in supervision, preferably within the peer learning concept.
We welcome you who thrive in interprofessional teams. You want to help shape future working methods and contribute to a work environment where we learn from each other. Your engagement and positive attitude contribute to a good work climate, where we all help each other and collaborate to achieve the best care quality for our patients. Having a good approach towards patients, relatives, students, and colleagues is a given for you. If you have an interest in IT and digitalization, that is a big plus. We offer an introduction tailored to your experience. As we are keen to find the right people for the positions, we place great importance on personal suitability.
