Make a Difference. Every Day.

The Heart Clinic for arrhythmia and pacemaker surgery is a highly specialized intervention unit with three labs for invasive electrophysiological examinations and treatments of cardiac arrhythmias. With approximately 1,000 ablations per year, we are one of Sweden's largest centers for invasive electrophysiology.

The pacemaker department is one of Europe's largest in terms of pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, with about 1,200 surgeries performed annually at the unit. The pacemaker unit also conducts outpatient care, follow-up, and remote monitoring of pacemaker and ICD treatments, as well as nursing work both pre- and post-operatively. Since January 2024, we are one of four nationally specialized centers for extraction surgery in Sweden.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to gain increased knowledge and competence in pacemaker care? Are you proactive, innovative, and have good collaboration skills and eager to work daytime? If so, we look forward to getting to know you.

We are now welcoming a new colleague to our surgical team and offering the opportunity to work as a surgical nurse in a smaller unit. The work includes the usual tasks for a surgical nurse, such as preparation and assistance/instrumentation during the insertion of various devices in our own operating room or in a hybrid room at COP. This may be combined with working as a nursing nurse, where you are closest to the patient during the operation and create a safe environment for them. Our patients are awake, and the operation is performed under local anesthesia. During the operation, X-ray is used, which means we work in lead aprons. We operate on both elective and emergency patients, and having preparedness for acute situations is of great importance. We also perform more complicated procedures, such as extractions of electrodes in case of infection.

The work is done in a team with a focus on person-centered care. We have ongoing internal training and make adjustments to our working methods to raise the level of competence and streamline our care work.

The unit works transprofessionally and strives to provide our patients with the highest quality of care. It is important to us that the atmosphere is characterized by a humanistic view of people, where interaction in meeting individuals is of central importance. We work based on Sus's values.

With us, there are good opportunities for development, as our operations constantly progress in line with new research and technology in arrhythmia treatment.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. For this position, it is also a requirement that you have specialist training in surgical nursing.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in cardiac care, knowledge of EKG and arrhythmia treatment, and/or experience working in a pacemaker clinic or similar. If you have knowledge and interest in medical technology focusing on the heart and arrhythmia area, this is very positive. Previous experience working in the Melior system is desirable.

The work is based on the value for our patients, and we are looking for a positive, responsible, and flexible person with the ability to work independently who shares our values. You are confident in your nursing role and have good collaboration skills and can see opportunities in problems and find creative solutions to them. We appreciate your commitment and place great importance on personal suitability.

In this recruitment, we apply ongoing selection. Welcome with your application today!
