Water and Wastewater Administrator with a Focus on Finance

We provide advice and information to the public and businesses, but we are also a supervisory authority within our areas of operation.

Ale Municipality is seeking a Water and Wastewater Administrator with a focus on finance for the Community Building Administration. The position is located in the Water Planning Unit, which is part of Infrastructure within the technical operations.

Currently, 8 people work in Water Planning in roles such as Water and Wastewater Administrator, Water Engineer, Subscriber Engineer, and Project Manager. Within the unit, we have close collaboration on most issues. You will also be part of the entire water and wastewater operation in the municipality and work closely with the Water Operations Unit.

Job Responsibilities

As a Water and Wastewater Administrator with a focus on finance, you will have overall responsibility for the financial aspects of the water and wastewater operations. You will work with the water and wastewater fee structure and be responsible for invoicing, payment flows, and follow-ups, including direct debits, debt collection management, accounting orders, and refunds. The role includes both external and internal customer service related to invoicing, accounting, and fees.

You will handle cases in the Future business system to ensure correct and efficient delivery to customers. Furthermore, you will work with the billing of connection fees and invoices outside of regular billing runs.

The work also includes reconciling balance accounts related to Future, obtaining and managing payment files, interest information to the Tax Agency, and producing water and wastewater statistics. You will process cases within the Water Unit and actively work to develop and improve the business systems.

As a Water and Wastewater Administrator, you will collaborate with subscriber engineers, operations staff, engineers, project managers, and consultants.

You will actively work to streamline the processing work from both an economic perspective and a customer perspective. You will actively participate in the unit's work to digitize workflows.

You will participate in the development of processing routines and manage both external contacts with property owners, authorities, and several other stakeholders in the water and wastewater operations, as well as internal contacts with other units within the municipality.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a shorter post-secondary education in finance or equivalent experience as assessed by the employer. You have at least one year of professional experience in finance, and we prefer that you have experience working in municipal or other public work. To succeed, you have an interest in collaborating with other municipal experts, private developers, consultants, and the public.

It is advantageous if you have worked in water and wastewater with experience in applying fees and regulations within the field, knowledge of the Public Water Services Act, contract law, competence in legal formulations, and system knowledge in the case management system EDP Future as well as the financial system Unit4.

We place great importance on personal suitability and want you to have a good ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships. You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish. A B driver's license is a requirement.
