The Position and Responsibilities

We are looking for a social worker for Mottag Vuxen for a temporary position of about one year with the possibility of extension, who wants to work with public authority activities at an early stage and contribute to ensuring that adults in vulnerable situations quickly receive the right support.

Mottag Vuxen is a pathway for individuals aged 18 and older who need advice and support from social services and who do not yet have contact with any other unit within the Social Administration. At Mottag Vuxen, we conduct municipal affiliation investigations, preliminary assessments, investigate needs related to harmful use and dependency, mental health issues, criminality, and basic investigations for financial assistance. The work is characterized by clear assessments, short processing times, and collaboration with both internal and external actors.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • receiving and preliminarily assessing applications and reports of concern in the areas of harmful use/dependency, mental health issues, and criminality according to SoL, LVM, and LVU
  • conducting safety assessments for young people aged 18–21 and assessing the need for interventions
  • collaborating with other units and external actors.

As a social worker, you will handle cases for a limited period before they are concluded or transferred for further investigations and decisions on interventions to the investigation units. The role requires you to work independently, make well-founded assessments, and simultaneously maintain a holistic perspective on the individual's needs.

We Offer You

Mottag Vuxen consists of 14 social workers, three senior social workers, three administrators, and two unit managers. We work closely together in an environment where collaboration, dialogue, and shared responsibility are central. The unit is in a development phase where we strengthen generalist competence, which involves both learning and shared responsibility in daily work.

As a social worker, you will have good conditions to succeed in your role through an introduction of about three months together with a mentor. The work is characterized by close and continuous methodological support, accessible leadership, and colleagues who share knowledge and experiences. You will gain a solid foundation in public authority activities, the opportunity to broaden your competence, and work in an environment where your work makes a concrete difference for people in vulnerable life situations. There is also the possibility of remote work when the business allows.

You Who Are Applying

You have a degree in social work or another equivalent education that includes social law and courses in social work. You also have practical experience in public authority activities related to harmful use and dependency, mental health issues, and criminal lifestyle.

Other requirements for the role:

  • Knowledge of LVM, LVU, and the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act acquired through practical work.
  • Experience working in digital operational systems and documenting in a structured manner.

We consider it an advantage:

  • Experience in public authority activities related to financial assistance.
  • Knowledge of related legislation such as LSS, LMA, and HSL.
  • Experience with the operational system Lifecare.

As a social worker, you are structured and have a good ability to prioritize in a varied and sometimes complex case flow. You plan and organize your work, follow up on your cases, and ensure that assessments and decisions are well-founded and legally secure, even when the work pace is high.

You are relationship-building and collaborative, with confidence in meeting people in vulnerable life situations. Through a professional and respectful approach, you create trusting relationships, contribute to effective collaboration with other actors, and can motivate change in a way that strengthens both the individual and the process.

For positions in the Social Administration in Botkyrka Municipality, you as a prospective employee will undergo a background check.
