The position is placed in the IT and Development Department, Governance and Support Sector. You will be part of the Digitalization business area, located in the Web and Production unit.

The Web and Production team collaborates with the municipality's sectors across all our channels – web, social media, graphic communication, forms, photography, and film.

The workplace is in central Gävle with good commuting opportunities and the possibility of some remote work based on the needs of the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a web strategist, you have overall responsibility for the municipality's external websites, with a particular focus on gavle.se. The role is both strategic and operational and involves close collaboration with web communicators, web strategists, system developers, and departments throughout the organization. Your mission is to ensure that the websites are accessible, user-friendly, and developed based on both the organization's goals and the users' needs.

Your tasks include:

• being the system administrator for gavle.se and other external websites
• responsible for content, structure, quality, and development of the external websites
• working with information architecture and user journeys to create a logical and target group-adapted web
• being the editorial lead for gavle.se, including quality assurance and clear language
• planning and leading the operational web work together with web communicators and departments
• ensuring compliance with accessibility requirements, GDPR, and the municipality's graphic and communicative guidelines

In addition, you set goals, track statistics, and work data-driven with development initiatives. You train and support web editors, develop common working methods and editorial guides, and order, specify, and test new functionalities in collaboration with system developers and other web strategists. Responsibilities and tasks may change over time based on the needs and priorities of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role, you need to have the right skills, experience, and an interest in strategic web development in a larger organization.

We are looking for someone who has:

• a university degree in media and communication, IT, or another education that the employer deems relevant for the position
• experience in a leading or coordinating role working with a larger website
• practical experience in information architecture and user journeys/service design
• good knowledge of and experience with accessibility adaptations
• very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

It is meritorious if you have:

• experience with Wordpress and/or Sitevision
• experience working in the public sector
• experience planning and leading workshops
• experience in project management or team leadership
• understanding of technical development in relation to editorial work
