About the workplace

Åsen and Herrestad home care are divided into different geographical areas that include urban and rural settings.

The main tasks of the care staff are to provide support, service, and care to individuals with various care needs. In the role of a nursing assistant, you may also need to meet individuals with mental health issues or substance abuse problems. We work to ensure that individuals receiving home care can stay in their homes for as long as possible.

In daily work, it is important that the individual's needs are at the center and that one has the ability to work based on assistance decisions. The working hours for care staff are scheduled for days, evenings, and every other weekend.

The home care service in Uddevalla municipality continuously works to implement digital solutions. Our care staff have individual work phones as a tool for communication, planning, information, and digital locks.

Job Responsibilities

We perform home care services according to the Social Services Act (SoL). The assignment also includes the execution of health and medical care interventions, by delegation, instruction, or prescription according to the Health and Medical Care Act (HSL).

Your main tasks will be to create a safe everyday life for our users through good care and support.

The support may vary based on the individual’s needs and wishes. It may involve assisting with personal care, preparing meals, walking, and cleaning. We work based on the individual's needs in focus (IBIC) and structured documentation. You will thus document events related to users and write implementation plans. You will also perform health and medical care tasks after delegation from a nurse.

Qualifications

  • Care and nursing program or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • Your education must meet the requirements to obtain a protected professional title as a nursing assistant issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare.
  • The work includes documentation according to applicable legislation, which means that you must express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish and have some computer skills.
  • A driving license (B) is a requirement.
  • We are looking for someone with a professional approach characterized by good reception and respect. The work places high demands on flexibility, initiative, collaboration, and problem-solving. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Other

For positions where a license/valid proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare on protected professional title is required, this must be submitted before employment.

Language assessment is conducted for certain professional groups before employment can be considered.

Criminal record checks are conducted for all employment within the social services.

For employment within HVB operations, an extract from the HVB home is requested.

For employment in services aimed at children with disabilities, extracts for children with disabilities and verification of personal information are requested.

For other employment within social services, an extract for verification of personal information is requested.

If the extract is not digital, it must be brought in an unopened envelope during the verification.
