REGION SKÅNE

13 days left
to apply for the job

Make a difference. Every day.

The Central Hospital in Kristianstad is the emergency hospital for northeastern Skåne. Here, qualified emergency care is provided around the clock with over 2,000 employees working. The hospital is large enough to offer a good breadth of training while being small enough for you as a resident doctor to come and participate actively. You will be an important cog in our wheel!

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for 13 resident doctors for the autumn of 2026, with start dates on August 31 and November 30.

Two of the positions may be filled as research residents, provided there are enough qualified applicants. Otherwise, they will be filled as ordinary residents. Research residents involve active research work for six months in addition to clinical service. The research should be conducted at the administration of Skånes Sjukhus Nordost, Sus, or Lund University. More information about research residency can be found here (https://www.skane.se/jobb-och-utbildning/tjanstgoring-praktik-och-utbildning/tjanstgoring/at--allmantjanstgoring-for-lakare/forskar-at/).

Over 18 months, we want to provide you with good clinical competence. The time available is divided into 4.5 months of surgical specialties and 4.5 months of internal medicine. The service in the somatic emergency department during the first nine months is partly unassigned under the responsibility of the emergency clinic (daytime and evening) but also as assigned surgery and medicine during the respective service sections (weekends and nights). Additionally, three months of psychiatry will be completed at the Central Hospital in Kristianstad and six months of general medicine at one of the health centers in the catchment area.

The overall introduction and ongoing theoretical training are provided in Kristianstad. Trauma training, emergency care training, and courses in the practice of sick leave, as well as various theme days, are examples of the professional development we offer. Participation in a reflection group during residency is a mandatory part. All residents are offered participation in Region Skåne's residency meeting at Ystad Saltsjöbad.

To ensure that your residency is well thought out and functioning, a team consisting of a residency director, overall study director, and administrative support is available to you. In addition to these, each clinic has a responsible physician for residents and a personal supervisor who ensures that you receive good guidance. Our primary task during your service is to provide you with good clinical competence that follows the objectives for resident doctors. Our residents play an important role in healthcare. We hope that your time here will be so inspiring that you would like to stay even after your license!
