The Women’s Health Care Unit (VO) has about 800 employees and consists of both gynecological and obstetric activities in Lund and Malmö. As part of Skåne University Hospital (Sus), we also have assignments in development, education, and conduct successful research within the field. The specialist maternity care includes several specialized clinics, specialized maternity care for pregnant patients with diabetes or substance abuse issues, as well as acute obstetric care, ultrasound, blood flow monitoring, social workers, and Women’s Health telephone counseling. Our operations meet pregnant and newly delivered patients in need of advice, support, and care. Here you will meet both healthy pregnant women and those with complications, always focusing on accessibility and high-quality care.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are currently looking for a midwife who will rotate between our telephone counseling and our emergency reception at the specialist maternity care clinic!
In our telephone counseling, you will perform qualified medical assessments, provide self-care advice, and refer callers to the appropriate level of care within gynecology and obstetrics. The telephone counseling is an essential part of women’s health care where you see the overall picture of the entire care chain during all stages of pregnancy and after childbirth. You will work alongside midwife and nursing colleagues who are always there to support you.
In the emergency reception, work is done in pairs, where the midwife and nursing assistant collaborate closely while also cooperating with the rest of the team. We meet both healthy pregnant patients and patients with high-risk pregnancies, making the work varied and challenging. In the emergency reception, we work in a team consisting of two midwives, two nursing assistants, and two doctors.
Working with us is responsible and varied, and you will work with a broad competence. In the clinic, we strive for continuous development, and you have an important role in inspiring and initiating improvement work. We all work together towards the operational goals and for good care of our patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a licensed midwife with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are a requirement. Work experience in maternity care, childbirth, and/or postnatal care as well as telephone counseling is meritorious for the position.
