Make a Difference. Every Day.

Do you want the opportunity to grow in your role as a nurse? Then we are the right place for you! We are looking for someone who wants to participate in our community and be active in both their own and the department's professional development while contributing to the well-being of our patients.

Internal medicine inpatient care in Malmö is conducted within the area of acute care and internal medicine. Patients come to us for further investigation and treatment from the emergency department and acute care unit, as well as directly from home. Our primary target group is adults, but we focus on the multi-ill elderly patient. We treat all diagnoses within internal medicine.

Medicine Ward 2 is located in modern facilities overlooking Pildammsparken. Here we have 21 beds distributed across three different specialties. We have standard inpatient beds, a student unit/Clinical Education Unit (KUA), and day care services. At KUA, the interprofessional team supervises over 300 students a year from occupational therapy, physiotherapy, medical, and nursing programs. Patients come to day care from primary care, municipalities, or the emergency department who need assessment or treatment from a cross-professional internal medicine team where you as a nurse play a central role. Some patients need to continue treatment in the hospital, while others can be cared for at home with the help of Hospital at Home.

We are a driven department that works for a positive atmosphere and good working environment. The department has a person-centered approach and works in teams to provide the best possible care to the patient.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of nurse, you are responsible for basic and medical care, risk assessment, and preventive measures. Diagnoses such as heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, anemia, infections, and diabetes are common. For those with a pedagogical interest, there are also great opportunities to develop as a supervisor at our KUA.

We offer support from a clinical specialist nurse and a unit manager nurse who works closely with other staff and provides assistance in complex care situations. You also have the opportunity to take part in our wide range of internal training/lectures and online courses. With us, you will find engaged colleagues who welcome questions and are happy to share both knowledge and experiences.

Our working environment is characterized by close collaboration and mutual support between different professional groups and care teams, where we work together to create person-centered care. We value teamwork, shared decision-making, and give you the opportunity to be part of a culture that prioritizes the patient's needs and well-being. For us, it is important that Region Skåne's values of welcoming, driving with care and respect permeate our care and work climate.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale is a requirement.

As a person, you have a humble attitude towards both patients and colleagues. You have the ability to take responsibility and make your own decisions but also value working in a team. Since we work in an acute setting, it is important that you have readiness to act and can change your planning according to how the situation looks. Additionally, you have good self-awareness, collaboration skills, and are flexible. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and a genuine interest in working within internal medicine.

In this recruitment, we are working with ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application today; we look forward to getting to know you!
