The area of operation (VO) for assistive technology is part of the administration for Psychiatry, habilitation, and assistive technology. The administration has over 4500 employees and operates in several locations in Skåne. VO assistive technology is responsible for all areas of assistive technology financed by Region Skåne. This includes assistive devices for people with mobility, vision, hearing, communication, and cognitive impairments, medical treatment aids, orthopedic technical aids, and pharmaceutical-related products.

In Skåne, the responsibility for assistive technology in mobility, communication, and cognition is divided between the municipalities and Region Skåne, where the region is responsible for assistive devices for children and young people up to 20 years of age, and the municipalities for individuals over 20 years. Exceptions are specific aids such as electric wheelchairs and several communication aids.

The assistive technology operation is divided into two areas: logistics/storage and clinics where patient-centered activities are conducted. We have five assistive technology clinics whose work is characterized by respectful treatment, positive engagement, close collaboration, and broad competence. Here, assistive technology consultants, assistive technology technicians, and unit secretaries work together with the patient in focus.

Kommsyn is responsible for assistive technology areas within communication and cognitive aids, computer-based visual aids, alternative telephony, and hearing technical aids. The unit also includes Datateket, which provides advice on developing apps and computer games.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome an occupational therapist to the team responsible for communication and cognitive aids, primarily located at Kommsyn in Lund. You will work in a team with occupational therapists, speech therapists, and IT technicians.

As an occupational therapist with us, you will primarily work with assistive devices within the areas of cognition and communication. This includes control methods, environmental control, movement, and epilepsy alarms. Collaboration between the Kommsyn assistive technology clinic and the movement clinics occurs. Work methods are under development to better collaborate and utilize our shared resources effectively.

You will work on behalf of prescribers, and your work will include advising, assistive device testing, follow-up, and training for prescribers, patients, and networks. The patients you meet are both children and adults with very varied disabilities and diagnoses. You will alternate between working independently and being part of a team where you contribute your specific expertise as an occupational therapist. Patient visits will take place at our clinics, at the prescribers' workplaces, or at the patient's home. This means that travel for work is required using public transport or pool cars.

At Kommsyn, pulse and improvement boards are used as part of Lean-inspired work, where deviations and improvements are handled continuously. All units within the assistive technology operation use this approach and help each other to improve the operation based on this common structure.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed occupational therapist with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You have language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Travel for work is required, and therefore a valid B driver's license is necessary. Experience working with individuals with disabilities and experience with cognitive aids and computer-based communication aids is advantageous for the position.

You thrive on informing and educating others and have a genuine interest in technology. We are looking for someone who has a good ability to prioritize and plan your tasks both individually and together with others, as well as the ability to handle many tasks simultaneously.
