The hospital in Trelleborg is a large workplace that also has all the advantages of a small hospital. We run an emergency department, somatic inpatient care with a focus on internal medicine, specialist clinics, and an orthopedic center.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for four resident doctors (AT-läkare) for Trelleborg Hospital, starting on 2026-09-01 or 2026-12-01.

The working hours consist of scheduled regular working hours, Monday to Friday, including public holidays, from 08:00 to 21:00. Some on-call duty may occur.

The residency will start with a week of introduction. You will have a supervisor at each placement. As a resident doctor, you will be offered to attend the AT-tinget, STRAMA training, courses in insurance medicine and sick leave, as well as an emergency course. These trainings are organized by Region Skåne. During your residency, ongoing local lectures will also be arranged.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for candidates who have a Swedish medical degree or a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare to undertake residency. Experience as an assistant physician in Swedish healthcare is an advantage. Proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is required. Applicants with education outside the EU must have completed the course in Community and Constitutional Knowledge with a passing grade before starting the residency. However, this course does not need to be completed before the interview.

We recruit resident doctors with a focus on the hospital's future competence supply and therefore place great importance on personal maturity, judgment, empathy, and collaboration skills in addition to formal qualifications. Furthermore, we see that you are engaged, proactive, communicative, and possess leadership qualities. Local ties may be advantageous.

NOTE! You cannot supplement your application after the application deadline of 2026-02-20. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please attach the following:

• CV that includes all post-secondary education and all healthcare experience. Indicate title, clinic, and employment period.
• Cover letter, where you have the opportunity to present yourself and explain why you are interested in the residency with us.
• Medical degree. If you do not yet have a diploma, attach a transcript (of at least 300 higher education credits, not a registration certificate) or equivalent.
• If you have studied medicine outside the Nordic countries, you should attach your decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare stating that you are eligible to apply for residency and a certificate that your Swedish language skills correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale (unless you have completed your secondary education in Sweden).
• If you have a valid work permit from the Migration Agency that allows residency training, you should attach this.

We will conduct interviews on March 4.
