Welcome to us at the Authority for Family Law and Parental Support (MFoF)!
Do you want to help build a modern and secure system for guardianship in Sweden? MFoF is now looking for an investigator with experience in guardianship issues to contribute to strengthening individual rights and the quality of guardianship.
The government has considered, through the proposition "A Guardianship You Can Trust 2025/26:92", to give MFoF a new, overarching state responsibility for the country's guardianship activities. The assignment is part of a comprehensive reform aimed at strengthening individuals' positions, improving the quality of operations, and ensuring that people in need of assistance receive legally secure support based on their own will and well-being.
As the new responsible authority in the field, we will work to create a uniform application of the law across the country. Our role will be to establish the national governance and coordination that has been lacking so far. This work includes:
- Exercising supervisory guidance by providing advice and support to the country's guardianship authorities and responsible county administrative boards
- Developing regulations, general advice, and handbooks that support and facilitate the work for both guardians and authorities.
- Quality assuring and providing national training, including a mandatory introductory training for guardians and curators.
- Establishing and being responsible for a national guardianship register that simplifies eligibility checks for banks and authorities and streamlines the suitability assessments of guardianship authorities.
- Being responsible for the official statistics in the area to enable deeper analysis and monitoring of operations nationally.
We are now looking for someone who wants to help build this new core operation with us. At MFoF, you will play a key role in creating a modern and secure system for the most vulnerable in society – a guardianship you can trust.

- Working with supervisory guidance in the area.
- Driving knowledge development in the area.
- Following research and other knowledge development within the authority's operational area, changes in the external environment, and other factors affecting the expectations and needs of target groups.
- Compiling and disseminating knowledge reports.
- Collaborating with authorities, organizations, principals, researchers, and practitioners.
- Planning and leading meetings. Conducting presentations, both internally and for various actors at the national, regional, and local levels.
Qualification Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- An academic degree in social sciences, social work, political science, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent/relevant.
- Experience in supervision or governmental authority work.
- Experience in working with guardianship, guardians, or related areas.
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Very good understanding of individual rights in guardianship.
- Experience in giving oral presentations and communicating in a clear and engaging manner.

- Very good ability to use the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
- Good knowledge of English.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Good knowledge of compiling and writing knowledge-based reports.
- Knowledge of register management and digital systems for supervision and follow-up.
Your Personal Qualities
In addition to the mentioned qualifications, we are looking for a person who:
- Has a collaborative approach and meets colleagues and other stakeholders with respect and professionalism.
