Company Description
Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of approximately 450 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation, delivering nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, developing and implementing projects and assignments, and providing internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders.
This involves activities such as project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and dam safety assignments. The focus within the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected technical key disciplines. We actively work with continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.
About the Role

Vattenfall works for fossil freedom and is a central player in realizing new nuclear power, extending the operating time of existing nuclear power plants, as well as in hydropower and the development of new energy solutions. Vattenfall Power Solutions provides internal technical specialist services where we both drive our own projects and strengthen the competence of our partners, and our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.
In the role of quality engineer in mechanics, you will work with quality assurance and quality control in our assignments to achieve fossil freedom. You will be involved in all phases of the assignments (procurement, construction, manufacturing, installation, and final documentation) related to mechanical installations, renovations, and repairs. As a quality engineer, you will work with several regulations and standards regarding, for example, pressure vessels, load-bearing structures, welding, and pipelines.
Our ongoing assignments are located in various places in Sweden but also in Europe, which means that travel is part of the job.

Requirements
To succeed in the role, you need to have:
- University degree in engineering or equivalent relevant work experience
- Several years of work experience in quality work within the process, energy, infrastructure, or pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of and experience working with standards and regulations such as:
- Pressure Equipment Directive, PED 2014/68/EU
- Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
- Pressure Vessels SS-EN ISO 13445 / Pipelines SS-EN ISO 13480
- Load-bearing Structures SS-EN 1090
- Quality Requirements for Welding SS-EN ISO 3834
- Use and Control of Pressure Equipment, AFS 2017:3
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience in the nuclear industry and knowledge of the application of the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority's regulations (PAKT).
- Knowledge of applicable regulations for lifting.
