Job Responsibilities
Organoids are powerful tools for modeling human biology in vitro, but high variability continues to pose significant challenges.
We are looking for an enthusiastic interdisciplinary researcher who can help us tackle this by integrating advanced machine learning, robotic control, and electrochemical sensing. You will be part of and supported by two dynamic and welcoming research groups, Professor Miliou at Stockholm University (Computer Science) and Professor Winkler at KTH (Micro- and Nanosystems), and be part of the Digital Futures initiative.
In your varied role, you will design, conduct, analyze, and communicate research across multiple areas, which will involve: (a) adapting a liquid handling robot to our requirements and integrating it with sensing capabilities; (b) developing a computational framework that can leverage sensor-based predictive machine learning for robotic control; and (c) evaluating organoid maturation under a series of feeding regimens using qPCR and microscopy. In addition to collaborating with existing team members, you will also mentor junior researchers to help advance the project - with the ultimate goal of significantly reducing variability between and within batches and thereby greatly improving their informational value for both fundamental biomedical research and drug development.
We Offer
- An employment at a leading technical university that creates knowledge and competence for a sustainable future
- Engaged and ambitious colleagues as well as a creative, international, and dynamic environment
