Employment Administration Department

The Employment Administration Department is in constant development with a clear goal: to reduce the need for financial assistance by helping more residents of Uppsala become self-sufficient. Within the Employment Administration Department, we work systematically and methodically with the entire planning of the job seeker’s path towards work or studies. The assignment includes case management, individual initiatives, and guidance within various activities, in close collaboration with other actors. Employment may take place at one of the Employment Administration Department's units: employment, support for work (ASTA), or IPS, where the focus of the assignment may vary based on the unit's target group and needs.

Job Description

As an employment officer, you work closely with job seekers by mapping needs, motivating, coaching, and managing cases. The role includes planning, implementing, and following up on individual initiatives that strengthen the individual's conditions for approaching work or studies. In your assignment, you match job seekers with employment opportunities and other initiatives within Uppsala Municipality's administrations based on the individual's competencies, conditions, and goals. You regularly follow up on progress and transitions and work with preparatory activities as part of the change process. The work also involves ongoing documentation and case management according to applicable legislation, guidelines, and routines. As an employment officer, you collaborate with other units within the Employment Administration Department, with partners in the labor market area, and with employers and, if necessary, the individual's other networks.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position. You should have experience working with people in change processes. The position requires good knowledge of Microsoft 365.

It is advantageous if you have experience in:

  • Matching with employers and labor market issues.
  • Managing larger case flows.
  • Planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks independently based on assignments and goals.
  • Mapping individuals' situations and needs as well as coaching, motivating, and supporting in change processes.
  • Working based on established and individualized methods.
  • Conducting case management and documentation according to applicable legislation, guidelines, and routines.
  • Collaborating with relevant actors and networks based on the individual's needs.

It is also advantageous if you have a background in behavioral science and training such as MI (Motivational Interviewing), labor market coaching, Supported Employment, Case Management, or other evidence-based methods within the labor market area.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative and drives the work forward with a clear focus on goals and results. As a person, you are attentive and collaborative, communicate well, and handle conflicts constructively. You are socially active in professional contexts and create contacts. You have the ability to see the big picture and act with the best interests of the entire organization in mind. Additionally, you plan and organize your work efficiently and meet set deadlines.
