The Sámi School Board is a government authority and has its office with the school principal, controllers, HR, and administrators in Jåhkåmåhkke.

The Sámi school is a school form equivalent to primary school with teaching from preschool class to grade 6. The starting point for the teaching is Sámi culture and the Sámi language according to the curriculum for the Sámi school. The Sámi School Board also operates preschool in agreement with the respective municipality. The Sámi School Board has operations in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna.

The Sámi School Board organizes distance education in the Sámi languages and supports the development and production of teaching materials for Sámi education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a resource person/child caregiver in preschool, you will contribute to driving, developing, and documenting the pedagogical work in accordance with the preschool's curriculum and operational idea. Together with your colleagues, you will plan, document, implement, evaluate, reflect, and analyze based on the operations in relation to children's development and learning as well as the Sámi perspective individually and in work teams. You actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with others at the preschool. You will also participate in other work at the preschool with the staff. The resource person/child caregiver participates in play, movement, and activities and assists during meals, dressing, and nap times. A large part of the operations is conducted outdoors on the preschool's yard, both in winter and on bare ground. As a child caregiver, you are responsible for supervising the children and must be able to move freely even outside the cleared paths. The preschool teacher has the pedagogical responsibility, but the child caregiver is also involved in the pedagogical planning. Documentation and planning of various indoor and outdoor activities are important parts of the work.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a trained child caregiver or have other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
You are proficient in Sámi, both orally and in writing.
You are well acquainted with the Preschool Curriculum.
You enjoy being outdoors and using nature as a basis for children's learning.
You are a positive and secure person.
You can work independently and easily create good relationships with children and adults.
You see children as competent and resourceful individuals.
You have good situational awareness and can quickly perceive and act in various situations.
You contribute to the preschool's value-based work through a democratic approach that encourages influence and interaction.
