Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you can do both. We are now looking for a Project Engineer for our construction operations in Gothenburg. At Svevia, we combine the sense of community and teamwork of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist – with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.

We are now seeking a Project Engineer for our site manager group that focuses on construction projects. The role is based in Gothenburg, but you may work in other parts of Västra Götaland.

Your mission as a Project Engineer

In this role as a Project Engineer, you will support our projects and be responsible for project financial follow-up, contract administration, quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety work.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, and Foreman to plan work and assist in staffing these roles.

Tasks included in your role:

  • financial follow-up in projects such as invoice management, monthly reconciliations, forecasting, and the preparation of various financial reports

  • management of notifications, change orders, and invoicing to clients

  • contract administration of various kinds and administration of project plans

  • assist in preparing alternative calculations

  • quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety work including documentation

  • Travel between work sites to follow up on work and relieve site managers.

Travel is included in the position, and the role may involve participation in projects in parts of our site manager area where overnight stays may be necessary.

Who are you?

You likely have an economic or technical degree from a university or vocational school, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience.

To be successful in this role, we see it as a requirement that you have worked for a few years in a similar role, with experience in construction projects. Additionally, you have:

  • good knowledge of Excel

  • driving license B

  • good communication skills in Swedish, both written and spoken

  • digital competence and feel comfortable with various tools and systems

  • the ability to travel for work as needed

It is also desirable that you have experience or knowledge of:

  • MAP cost control

  • construction law

To thrive in the role, it comes naturally for you to plan, document, and you also have an eye for numbers. Last but not least, you enjoy working towards deadlines and have the ability to collaborate in a team for shared success and well-being.

Part of something bigger

With well-knit teams, we build Sweden from the ground up – in concrete, steel, wood, stone, and earth. And we do this by constructing roads, bridges, quays, and concrete structures for industry, state, and municipalities. We also break new ground and pave the way for water and sewage networks, wind farms, and development areas. We also have specialized units within foundation work and soil remediation. Together with Svevia's other operations in road maintenance and paving, you will become an important cog in a larger societal machinery. This opens up new opportunities for innovation and problem-solving.

Why Svevia?

With us, you quickly become part of the team, and we care about being a workplace for everyone. The decision-making paths are short, it is easy to influence and make your voice heard.

We have career paths for those who want to become managers and leaders or want to develop in their existing professional roles. It is as a team that we create success. That is how we do business and generate results. That is how we make cities and rural areas function. Do you want to share the road with us?
