Occupational Therapist at NU Healthcare
NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Northern Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 inhabitants. Together, we are about 5,000 employees working every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.
About Occupational Therapy at NU Healthcare
The Occupational Therapy department at NU Healthcare is distributed between NÄL and Uddevalla Hospital. At NÄL, about 18 employees work, consisting of occupational therapists and rehabilitation assistants. The hospital is centrally located in Trollhättan, making it convenient to commute from nearby towns such as Vänersborg, Uddevalla, and Gothenburg.
Our mission is to assess and rehabilitate patients with reduced activity and functional capacity due to a somatic illness, severe accidents, or surgical interventions in the hospital's care departments and outpatient clinics. The occupational therapy at NÄL also has its own outpatient clinic where we treat patients with orthopedic hand injuries as well as burn and vascular injuries. We also conduct some outpatient care within neurology.
Job Responsibilities
With us, you will work with the assessment and treatment of patients admitted to somatic county healthcare. As an occupational therapist in the unit, you will work in a team on a care department or outpatient clinic. We work based on evidence-based and person-centered approaches. Within the workgroup, there is a good climate with opportunities for significant exchange of competence and experience in various specialist areas.
Here, you will encounter a varied workday, daily check-ins, supportive colleagues, and an active effort for a good working environment. We consistently work to reduce administration and double documentation through the support of digitalization, to provide more time for patient work.
You will participate in development work both in the unit and in the department where you are stationed. With us, there is an opportunity to develop in your profession over time and the possibility to specialize in your area of interest.
We are currently looking for an occupational therapist for work in the hospital's somatic care departments with a primary placement in neurology and stroke units. You will also work with consultants from the hospital's other departments, which come in via a digital case management system. We work with mentorship, and you will be introduced to the work by your colleagues.
Qualifications
We are now looking for a licensed occupational therapist for the unit at NÄL. Previous experience working in a hospital is an advantage. We hope you are proactive, enjoy new challenges, and want to broaden your competence. Furthermore, you are flexible in your role as an occupational therapist regarding working methods and tasks. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
