We are now looking for an experienced and confident Interim Manager for an exciting assignment in strategic urban planning in a municipality in Märsta.

The assignment involves overall responsibility for results, personnel, and finances and aims to lead and further develop the municipality's work in urban planning. The department's mission is to strengthen strategic planning and contribute to the municipality's long-term development.

About the assignment

As interim manager, you will lead the department's work through two unit managers and be responsible for, among other things:

• The municipality's comprehensive plan as well as overarching planning and investigations in areas such as nature, water, and traffic issues
• Detailed planning
• Responsibility for the municipality's development and investment portfolio
• Collaboration with other municipalities on strategic planning
• External representation in urban development issues

You will be part of the management team of the urban development office and are expected to actively contribute to the overall results and development of the office.

The assignment also includes the role of unit manager for the Strategic Planning Unit, where you will lead and support approximately 10 employees and be responsible for joint forums such as APT and unit meetings.

Scope and period

• Scope: 39 hours/week
• Assignment period: February 16, 2026 – April 10, 2026
• Location: Märsta
• Working method: On-site with the possibility of hybrid (at least 50% on-site)

This assignment is suitable for you who have solid experience in leadership roles within urban development or strategic planning and who can quickly take responsibility, create structure, and drive the operations forward during a limited period.
