Develop ETL flows, work with SQL Server, and take the lead in modernizing the DW environment. We are looking for a DW Developer at Alecta

At Alecta in Stockholm, you will be part of a competent team responsible for an established Data Warehouse platform. The role combines hands-on development with overall responsibility for analyzing existing architecture, identifying improvement needs, and driving the transition towards a more optimized and sustainable DW environment. At the same time, you will also gradually develop new solutions in Azure and Databricks.

This is what you will do with us

• Analyze existing Data Warehouse architecture and drive initiatives to modernize and optimize the environment
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SSIS
• Create and manage reports using SSRS
• Collaborate with the rest of the team to realize flows from source to Power BI via Azure Databricks
• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

Your team and workplace

The IT department has about 100 employees in 13 agile teams. You will be part of the analytics layer team with data warehouse developers, data engineers, scrum master, PO, testers, and system architect. In close collaboration with the business, you will produce relevant data based on needs. The work primarily takes place in our on-prem solution in SQL Server, but you may also be involved in initiatives related to Azure and Databricks. The focus is on building a stable platform with high data quality that strengthens analysis and reporting throughout the organization.

Alecta has offices in central Stockholm, with the possibility of remote work as needed.

More about you

To succeed in this role, you have solid experience with SQL Server and good knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices. You have worked for several years with SSIS and SSRS and are accustomed to using SQL Server Agent Jobs for scheduling and automation. You have a deep understanding of data warehouse architecture, dimensional modeling, and various data integration patterns. You master T-SQL, can develop complex queries, and work with performance optimization. It is a plus if you are curious about cloud technologies such as Azure or Databricks.

You take initiative, want to improve and modernize solutions, and enjoy collaborating cross-functionally. You like to see the big picture, take responsibility for quality, and communicate easily with colleagues in both IT and the business.
