Within the section's mission, work is currently underway to develop a new web application for the services available in the area: capturing biometrics, applications, issuance, and control of travel or identity documents. In addition, there is also significant work being done to modernize platforms as well as application upgrades.

It is therefore important that you have a genuine interest in technology and extensive experience in software development.

We are looking for someone who wants to work with the users' interests in focus and leads the development work to ensure that our products and capabilities evolve over time. In this role, you will collaborate with specialists in architecture, requirements, and testing, as well as other competencies from different parts of the organization and the IT department to jointly achieve set goals. We are a self-organizing team that plans our sprints based on the needs of the organization; due to the section's tasks, work related to European and international working groups may also occur.

Some technical starting points regarding the assignment/system:

  • Java/JavaEE
  • Oracle SQL / MySQL
  • Angular
  • Kotlin
  • Spring Boot
  • Container platforms such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Certificate management

As a system developer, your main tasks may include:

  • Contributing to the development of sustainable, secure, and robust systems
  • Contributing to the choice of technology, frameworks, and architecture
  • Ensuring high quality in architecture, code, and documentation
  • Collaborating closely with the requirement-setting business, as well as other specialists in the group such as requirement analysts, project leaders, and UX designers

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

  • Education in computer science or equivalent acquired experience that the Police Authority assesses as equivalent
  • Several years of relevant work experience in Java on a Linux platform
  • Good knowledge of Swedish
  • Swedish citizenship

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience working as a system developer in a cross-functional team in a larger organization
  • Experience with Spring Boot and related frameworks
  • Experience with CI/CD on Jenkins, for example, with tools/platforms such as Bitbucket, Nexus, Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker, Gitops, and Maven
  • Experience with certificate management
  • Experience with integration with equipment using SDK with USB or over the network via WebSockets, WebServices, or equivalent
  • Experience working test-driven

Personal qualities

Since the role involves many contact points, we see it as a given that you have an easy time collaborating and a very good communicative ability. You adapt your communication according to the audience and recipients both in writing and verbally. The work also requires that you can work independently and that you have the ability to take initiative. As many assignments come to the section, it is important to work with a solution-oriented approach.
