Do you want to work in a housing facility with special services where you can make a real difference for people with dementia? We are now looking for a support assistant for Björkö - a star-rated residence in the heart of the city center, where participation, independence, and a person-centered approach are in focus.

Björkö is an LSS residence for individuals up to 65 years old with dementia. The residence has five tenants and is located at Landala Torg. Here, we work to ensure that our tenants can participate, influence their services, and live as independently as possible with professional support and good care as a foundation. Being star-rated means that the staff has received training in dementia and has the tools to work in a person-centered way.

Your primary placement will be at Björkö, but as needed, you will also work at the Trubaduren residence located in the same building and with the same focus. The work is varied and stimulating, with much freedom under responsibility. You will provide support and care in daily activities based on individual needs, contribute to safety, participation, and meaningfulness for the tenants, and document in the operational system Treserva. If you have not used Treserva or other systems within the City of Gothenburg before, you will receive training.

We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules. The housing with special services offers support around the clock. We base our work hours on the tenants' needs and need to adapt working hours accordingly. Working hours are scheduled for daytime and evening, as well as weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for qualified personnel who have graduated as a support assistant, nursing assistant, studied the child and leisure program with a focus on social or educational work, or the care and nursing program with a specialization in disabilities, which includes at least 200 YH points, 120 higher education credits, or a combination thereof that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities or other education that the employer considers equivalent.

It is important that you have the ability to communicate with tenants, colleagues, and maintain documentation. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

It is advantageous if you have experience working in care and nursing, especially with the target group of dementia under 65 years and BPSD (Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms in Dementia), as well as experience working in a star-rated workplace. Having a B driver's license and driving experience is also desirable.

Knowledge and experience of the following methods are advantageous; LAB (low-affect approach), IBIC (Individual Needs in Focus), and MI (Motivational Interviewing).

You distinguish between the issue and the person and can make well-founded decisions under time pressure.
