Do you want to make a difference as a support assistant for people living in BmSS, Housing with Special Services? We are now looking for a support assistant who wants to provide support to individuals in their daily lives, both inside and outside the home.

Frödingsgatan's service housing is an LSS residence for adults, both women and men, with psychiatric disabilities. The accommodation consists of 16 apartments in a multi-family house with a common area. The staff group consists of 8 support assistants and one support educator. We are now looking for you who want to make a difference for those we are here for!

Your placement will be at Frödingsgatan, but you may need to step in and work at the nearby workplace, Falkens service housing, if necessary.

Some of us encounter obstacles when the world is not designed according to our way of functioning. As a support assistant, it is your role to support the tenants' participation and create opportunities to influence decisions and interventions. You provide support in everyday life, from communication, stimulating leisure activities to household chores. Your role is to adapt your support and contribute to a good and independent life. You collaborate with other people around the tenant, such as guardians, social workers, relatives, and healthcare professionals. The work includes social documentation and medication management according to delegation.

By establishing and following implementation plans, you ensure that the tenants' needs are in focus. They receive a safe home with the opportunity to live like everyone else. In your role, you will motivate the tenants in their daily lives. This may involve stimulating contacts outside the residence and creating conditions for enriching leisure activities based on the user's interests. As a support assistant, you enable our tenants to develop and grow. All social documentation is done in the documentation system Treserva. If you have not previously used the systems used within Gothenburg City, you will receive training in these.

Housing with special services offers support around the clock. We base our work on the tenants' needs and need to adapt working hours accordingly. Working hours are scheduled for day and evening shifts, sleeping on-call, and working every other weekend. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care Program, Support Assistant Training, or the Child and Leisure Program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the area of disabilities that includes at least 200 YH credits, 120 higher education credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 higher education credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the job, which requires you to have a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the requirement, you may be offered to take a language test. You should have at least 2 years of experience supporting individuals with both mental (e.g., psychotic disorders and schizophrenia) and physical disabilities. It is advantageous if you have experience and knowledge of LAB (low-arousal approach), ESL (an independent life), MI (motivational interviewing), and VSS (care and coordination). Additionally, it is desirable if you have a B driver's license and driving experience as our users have activities outside the home.

You collaborate and understand the common mission. You do this by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively and ensuring that tasks are completed on time and following up on the results.
