Are you studying to become a social worker and would like to work with youth in social work? Then this position as a Duty Assistant at Sambuh HVB is perfect for you! In this role, you will have a significant impact on the lives and development of young people.

Sambuh consists of a small HVB with four places and support housing in integrated apartments around Hisingen. Our target group is young people aged 16 to 20 who, for various reasons, cannot live at home.

Sambuh has a safe working group where all staff have a strong commitment and knowledge of social work and therapeutic youth work. You will have good support from your colleagues but are also expected to work with a high degree of independence.

We are now looking for a temporary duty assistant who wants to contribute to making a difference in young people's lives as one of our employees is on leave.

As a duty assistant, your tasks will include meeting the youth in the evening and morning. In the evening, tasks may include homework help, assisting them in job searches, or just chatting a bit to create security. You will be on duty at night and will be alone in the facility, with access to a colleague by phone if a youth needs support and you need assistance in the situation.

Some practical tasks will also be included, as well as preparations for the next day. In the morning, tasks may include waking up, setting the breakfast table, and creating motivation for the school day.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in and ability to meet the target group.

You should have relevant higher education, such as YH treatment assistant, or be studying and have completed at least 120 credits towards a social work degree or another higher education that the employer deems equivalent.

A driver's license (B) is required.

Experience working with youth or related target groups is desirable.

For positions that involve direct and regular contact with children under 18, you must be able to present a valid extract from the criminal record before you start working with us. The extract is ordered directly from the Police's website.

As a person, you are independent, have a positive attitude, and place great importance on interaction. You need to have a good ability to create trusting relationships with the residents, while also being comfortable in having a controlling function and being able to set boundaries in a gentle way. You need to be secure in yourself and able to take responsibility for the routines of the operation. It is important that you are flexible so that you can quickly adapt depending on what the situation requires.
