Assistant Nurse at MÄVA
NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area encompasses 280,000 residents. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.
Are you an assistant nurse with a genuine interest in the elderly? Do you want to be part of a department that has the vision to develop cutting-edge care for this clientele? Do you want to be part of a department where the role of the assistant nurse is in constant development? Then you are the one we are looking for!
MÄVA
At MÄVA, we care for medically acutely ill elderly patients, who come both from the emergency department and directly from home.
We are part of the collaborative healthcare system and work together with ambulances, primary care, and municipalities, and we have a local healthcare team connected to us. This collaboration is an initiative to ensure that multi-ill and frail elderly patients receive quick care.
The challenge in the work is the complex disease picture with many chronic illnesses and frailty. Common diagnoses in the department include acute infections, diabetes, heart failure, COPD, and atrial fibrillation.
Job Responsibilities
As an assistant nurse at MÄVA, your tasks will be varied. You will work with sample collections, NEWS checks, ECGs, bladder scans, catheterization of the bladder, CPAP and BiPAP treatment, and wound dressings. Daily nursing care for our patients and documentation is also included. As an assistant nurse, you will document measurement values, updated status, and in various care plans. We work in teams around the patient, where you, together with nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, are an important part.
There is great potential for development in the assistant nurse role in the department.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has proof of a protected professional title as an assistant nurse.
We believe that you also have:
- Previous experience working with elderly people and/or emergency care
- See development as a natural part of the work
- A willingness and ability to work in teams
- The ability to work independently and take initiative
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Other
Work shifts will include both day and evening. Night work may occur as needed. Weekend work every other weekend.
Interviews will be conducted continuously during the application period.
As of July 1, 2023, the title of assistant nurse became a protected professional title. This means that you need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title of assistant nurse within healthcare and social services. You can read more about the protected professional title for assistant nurses on the National Board of Health and Welfare's website – it also states what transitional rules apply: https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/skyddad-yrkestitel-for-underskoterska/information-om-skyddad-yrkestitel/ (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/skyddad-yrkestitel-for-underskoterska/information-om-skyddad-yrkestitel/)
