Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS)

Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) operates in several locations in Skaraborg, including Falköping, Lidköping, Mariestad, and Skövde. We provide specialized healthcare in around thirty specialties and work together for the health of our patients throughout their lives, offering comprehensive and secure care. "The small hospital within the hospital"

In the department, we care for child and youth patients up to 18 years old.

Here, a dedicated team of about 40 employees works, consisting of pediatric nurses, nurses, child care assistants, nursing assistants, pediatricians, and doctors in training. The work is characterized by collaboration, and we work closely with resources such as play therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, and dietitians.

The Children's Department has 14 inpatient beds and 6 short-term beds where inpatient care and emergency care are provided around the clock.

Job Responsibilities

As a pediatric nurse/nurse, you primarily work in direct patient care and are a natural contact for both relatives and parents. You will have the opportunity to work from a broad perspective within pediatric care, where you can expand your competence and face new challenges based on the department's focus and breadth. In inpatient care, we work according to a flexible scheduling model, which means shifts during the day, evening, night, and weekends. In your role, there is also the opportunity to rotate into the children's emergency department.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse.

It is highly meritorious if you are a trained pediatric nurse or a nurse with experience in pediatrics.

You have:

  • strong ability to collaborate with both colleagues and patients and their families.
  • ability to work flexibly based on our different patient groups and can handle sudden situations when there is a lot happening in the unit.
  • a genuine interest in pediatric care and a desire to work for the development of the organization, the group, and your personal growth.

Working with children requires creativity and patience to build trust with the patient and their guardians. The approach is crucial in all situations. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability from a child perspective.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes introductory days, supervision and training days, as well as observation days. The purpose of the Clinical Foundation Year is to create good conditions for newly graduated nurses to strengthen their theoretical knowledge and practice skills while growing into their new profession.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
