Radiographer/Nurse for the Mammography Department
NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Northern Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 residents. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.
Description
The Mammography Department belongs to the clinic for imaging and functional medicine and is part of the breast center together with surgical and pathology services.
The close collaboration within the breast center enables a short care flow where patients are usually both investigated for breast cancer and receive results from the examination on the same day.
The Mammography Department's mission is to offer screening with mammography to women aged 40-74 years. Screening is performed at the department as well as at two mobile units that together have about 15 different setup locations in NU Healthcare's catchment area. Clinical examinations and screenings are performed at the department.
We continuously work on workplace environment issues, improvement work, networking with other mammography departments, as well as positioning and image quality, among other things. A good working environment for everyone is important in mammography. We work in teams, so great importance is placed on good cohesion and common goals.
Responsibilities
Standard duties as a radiographer/nurse in the mammography department. Responsibilities include screening, clinical imaging, and assisting in clinical examinations and ultrasounds.
The position involves working with mammography both in the mobile units and at the department, breast center. Working hours are during the day, evening shifts occur in the mobile units. Overnight stays occur when placed in the mobile units about 4 nights a month.
Qualifications
Licensed radiographer or licensed nurse. Experience in mammography and radiation protection training is advantageous. The position requires good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
You who are applying should have an easy time communicating and have good collaboration skills as well as being confident in your independent work. You should be flexible and have a situationally adapted working method. The work is physically demanding, especially for arms and shoulders. You have a genuine interest in people, a good attitude, and are responsive to women/patients' wishes and needs.
A driver's license is required. Driving occurs frequently in all weather conditions, both morning and evening to the mobile units.
