About us

The Prostate Cancer Center is part of the Urology Clinic at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, and we work together in urology and oncology to provide the best possible prostate cancer care.

At the Prostate Cancer Center, several professions collaborate, where you will become an important person in ensuring the best possible care for patients based on their needs, together with the collective expertise of the team. The operations include both doctor consultations, nurse consultations, and telephone advice. Nursing competence is an important part of teamwork around the patient and is conducted from an evidence-based and person-centered perspective. This ensures good, safe, and equitable care and development of nursing. At the Prostate Cancer Center, we actively work with workshifting and improvement efforts to operate at the top of our competence. • Contact nurse training

As a contact nurse, you have the overall responsibility to be especially available for patients and relatives throughout the care chain. You will be responsible for establishing an individual written care plan, My Care Plan, and ensuring the patient's participation and influence in their own care. You should be able to provide support to patients and relatives during normal crisis reactions. You will also participate in multidisciplinary conferences, inform about upcoming steps in the care process, and inform and follow up on treatments. You will always have the support of experienced colleagues. The approach to patients and relatives is a focus. The work also involves contact with other care instances. There is an opportunity to combine with work on the care ward if there is interest.

About you

We are looking for a licensed nurse. Previous experience as a contact nurse or working in urology or oncology is an advantage.

As a person, you should be able to work both independently and in a team.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the relevant position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
