This is your mission

As a machine learning engineer at the Security Police, you will work to make AI and data science accessible to the entire agency. Here, you will build, operate, and maintain various AI applications while ensuring that the models are useful and reliable.

You will work from a scientific approach using data science and AI techniques together with other system developers and experts within the Security Police. Together, you will create technology that helps find new angles and connections in the operational work within the core areas of the Security Police: counter-espionage, constitutional protection, counter-terrorism, personal protection, and security protection.

You will play an important role in developing a data platform where data from various sources is stored and analyzed using the latest data management and AI techniques. As variation and new questions are everyday occurrences, the agile team continuously works to develop methods, approaches, and tools.

Your placement will be at the headquarters in Solna. The work is performed on-site, which means you will not have the opportunity to work remotely. Travel within and outside Sweden may occur.

These are the qualifications we are looking for

Only those who meet the following requirements will be considered for the position.

• Academic education in computer science, computer engineering, data science, mathematics, statistics, or equivalent education deemed comparable by the Security Police
• At least two years of experience in technical work with machine learning and/or AI
• Very good ability to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written

The position requires Swedish citizenship.

You who are applying may also have competencies that add breadth and complementary perspectives. If you can contribute with one or more of the following, it is meritorious:

• Experience working with agile methodologies
• Good experience with code reviews, testing, and CI/CD flows
• Experience working with both structured and unstructured data
• In addition to being technically competent, you can discuss AI from a legal, user-centered, and/or security perspective

Good knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas are also meritorious:

• Data pipelines for model training and inference
• Ensuring production, monitoring, and operation of AI models
• Performance optimization, quantification, and packaging of models
• Model management in cloud environments and containerized development
• Large language models and multimodal models in production environments
• Information and IT security related to AI models

The Security Police has high demands for security and confidentiality, so we expect you to have a strong security awareness.

Employment conditions and benefits

Employment with the Security Police means placement in a security class that requires Swedish citizenship. Employment also requires a satisfactory result in the security screening with background check, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act.

This is a permanent position that begins with a six-month probationary period. We apply individual salary setting. Employment comes with an obligation to be placed in a war situation.
