The Flight Systems Section SK40 is looking for a System Engineer for the training aircraft SK40 at the Air Combat School (LSS), with a workplace in Linköping.
About the Unit and the Position
The Air Force organizes and trains air, base, and command units. In collaboration with land and naval combat forces, we conduct joint operations both nationally and internationally with other nations, organizations, and authorities. The position as a system engineer belongs to the Flight Systems Section at the Flight School. The Flight School is a unit at LSS, which is a developing unit where innovation and modern working methods are a natural part of everyday life. As a system engineer, you provide technical system support and participate in various collaboration forums and extensive cooperation with our other sections as well as external partners and other authorities.
The position is part of the technical organization of the flight operator, functionally led by the central technical manager via the technical manager of material systems (TCM SK40). The technical organization is responsible for Continuing Airworthiness Management (LFL), which corresponds to the civil Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO).
Through both collaboration and independent work, you ensure the airworthiness of our aircraft and contribute with in-depth analyses and expertise within the technical field.
You participate in investigations, prepare cases, and take part in projects to provide, among others, the technical manager with well-founded materials for strategic decisions and priorities.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the continuous airworthiness of the SK40 flight system
- Provide qualified technical system support to responsible units and decision-makers
- Act as a link between the unit and the technical manager regarding technical system support and deviation management
- Establish technical deviation documentation
- Decide on the handling of deviations, outstanding remarks, and operational restrictions
- Initiate, prepare, and produce what is required to maintain the continued airworthiness of material in use
- Participate in meetings with external maintenance providers
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering education or a minimum of 4 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and at least aircraft technician level B1/B2 or equivalent civil level
- Experience in managing continuing airworthiness
- Driving license B

- Good knowledge of English in both speech and writing
- Experience working with the Armed Forces' IT systems (FENIX, PRIO)
- Experience working with FM LFL and FM Flight Operator procedures
- Type training on the Grob G120TP aircraft
