We are a dedicated group of doctors covering outpatient care in Hallsberg, Lindesberg, Karlskoga, and Örebro, as well as inpatient care in Örebro. We work together to implement and develop good, personalized psychiatric care for our patients. Within the region, there is also an active and exciting research environment where many doctors conduct research part-time.

The Affective Unit is an outpatient clinic tasked with assessing and treating patients with bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and recurrent depression. We work in interdisciplinary teams, and the clinic includes senior physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, nursing assistants, medical administrative staff, and a unit manager. At the Affective Unit, we have close access to specialist knowledge, research, and education. We strive to be a health-promoting workplace with a good working environment and flexible working methods. We are organizationally under general psychiatry and collaborate with other units within the organization, such as inpatient care, the SPOT team, and the emergency psychiatric clinic. The Brain Stimulation Unit is a clinic within the General Psychiatric Clinic in Örebro County, providing psychiatric needs for ECT, rTMS, and Ketamine treatment for both outpatient and inpatient care. We have several ongoing research projects regarding ECT and rTMS, as well as other research projects. We register in the national quality registry for ECT, rTMS, and a local Ketamine registry. The patient group primarily includes various severity levels of depression but also psychosis, mania, and anxiety. We work to maintain close collaboration with the departments and anesthesia staff. It is a high-functioning unit with a strong focus on the patient. At the clinic, you will be part of a team with nurses, doctors, medical administrative staff, and personnel from anesthesia. You will have close cooperation with other units within psychiatry.

General Psychiatric Outpatient Care is part of the specialized services within the Health and Medical Care Administration that offers specialized care for psychiatric disorders. General psychiatric outpatient care is available both in Örebro and in several parts of the county. The mission of general psychiatry is to assess, treat, and rehabilitate individuals referred to our units via referral or who seek help on their own. Treatment and psychoeducational interventions occur both individually and in groups, as well as through digital consultations. Work often occurs in teams that include doctors, psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and medical administrative staff.

General Psychiatric Inpatient Care is located at the University Hospital in Örebro. Psychiatric wards 2 and 3 receive patients in need of inpatient care coming from the psychiatric emergency department, our general psychiatric outpatient clinics, or other hospitals. Some patients are treated voluntarily according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL), and some involuntarily according to the Compulsory Psychiatric Care Act (LPT). The inpatient care also includes a psychiatric emergency department with on-call services open around the clock. The region has also developed SPOT (Specialist Psychiatric Nursing Team), which is a person-centered and flexible care model where close care interventions can be provided at home.

Psychiatrist for the Affective Unit and Brain Stimulation Unit

As a specialist physician in general psychiatry, you will lead the psychiatric treatment work together with the patient's multiprofessional team. You will also be part of the on-call service for the psychiatric area based at the psychiatric emergency department in Örebro.
