The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Outpatient Care (BUP) is tasked with providing specialized care to children and adolescents up to 18 years of age with psychiatric conditions. We work based on evidence-based methods to ensure safe and effective care. The clinic serves all municipalities in the region. The operation is extensive and conducted by a competent team with various professional roles: social workers, psychologists, doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, special educators, caregivers, and medical administrative staff.

Psychologist Assistant Child and Adolescent Psychiatry BUP Outpatient Care Örebro

Job Responsibilities

In child and adolescent psychiatry, the main tasks for a licensed psychologist involve qualified psychological interventions in the form of assessment, treatment, and sometimes investigation. Treatment is provided both in groups and individually.

As a psychologist assistant, you work under the supervision of a licensed psychologist and can thus carry out all or part of the psychological interventions. The tasks include conducting in-depth assessments where the child's or adolescent's needs are mapped. The role also includes offering supportive contacts or conducting a limited part of a treatment, depending on what the situation requires. Parenting support is a central part of the work and involves providing guidance, information, and support to guardians to strengthen their ability in the parenting role based on the child's situation or condition. The work also includes various types of phone contacts, such as providing advice and support, conducting initial assessments, or following up on ongoing cases.

We collaborate extensively with childcare, schools, social services, and other healthcare services.

Qualifications

You have completed patient work under supervision in the psychology program. You are a confident and stable person who instills trust in all contexts. You work in a structured manner and create order and clarity even when situations are complex. You are confident and have the ability to work independently within the framework of your professional role. With your good collaborative skills, you actively contribute to a positive work climate and see the value in working together to achieve common goals.

You are adaptable and can easily adjust to changes while maintaining focus on quality and results. Your empathetic and attentive side allows you to understand and meet various needs and perspectives - both from colleagues and patients and their networks. You should have completed the 8th semester of the psychology program.

Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry or working with children and adolescents in other settings is an advantage. Personal suitability is highly valued.

We Offer

Introduction and certain basic training are included when you come to us as new, and you will also have an appointed supervisor who is a licensed psychologist. Region Örebro County offers certain benefits upon employment, which may vary depending on the type of employment.

Employment Information:

3 positions. Fixed-term employment, part-time, approximately 20% during the semesters and a higher working degree during the summer period weeks 24-35.
