Research-AT Positions in Northern Healthcare Region

The Northern Healthcare Region announces up to four positions per semester for research-AT. You can specify your preference for which hospital within the Northern Healthcare Region (Norrbotten, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, and Jämtland/Härjedalen) you wish to complete your clinical placement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Job responsibilities according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations on general service for doctors (AT).

Research-AT means that the clinical AT service is extended by up to 12 months of research in periods of 1-6 months inserted between the clinical service placements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Medical degree obtained by the time of employment and research merits.

You must have a doctoral degree or be registered as a doctoral student at the Faculty of Medicine, Umeå University by the application deadline.

To be eligible to apply for the research-AT position, you must be engaged in research related to the Faculty of Medicine at Umeå University. This means that the majority of the applicant's or supervisor's research is based at the Faculty of Medicine, Umeå University.

The research must fall within the framework of ALF, i.e., clinical research with clear patient and population benefits and relevance to healthcare, or translational research with clear clinical relevance. The project will be assessed based on innovation and originality, scientific quality, the applicant's competence, and the project's feasibility.

Applications for research-AT will be evaluated by an assessment group appointed by the ALF committee, with representatives from Umeå University and regions in the Northern Healthcare Region. The final ranking of applications will be made by the ALF committee based on the assessment group's recommendations. After consultation with relevant representatives, the names of the highest-ranked candidates will be forwarded to the responsible parties within the region for employment decisions. Special consideration will be given to personal qualities and collaboration skills.

Applicants with foreign medical education must have a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare to undertake AT in Sweden.

OTHER

In addition to the digital application, the following attachments must be submitted as a supplement once the application is made. You will receive an email where you should attach:

• Any medical degree
• Certificate from the department head regarding research affiliation
• Certificate from the supervisor if you are a doctoral student
• Publication list
• Research program in Swedish or English, maximum 10 pages. The research program should include the following: background, objectives, methods, any preliminary results, clinical relevance, and references. The research program should also specify what the applicant plans to do during the allocated research time and where the research work will be conducted.
• Any other relevant files.

Research-AT positions are filled by the respective region where the applicant chooses to complete their clinical service. This means that the region's conditions regarding salary and benefits will be followed.
