• Skellefteå hospital offers a pleasant combination of specialist healthcare and research, as well as a city in strong development with exciting business establishments. Skellefteå, also called the 10-minute city, offers versatility with short distances and proximity to both city and nature. In the newly built 20-story cultural house Sara, theater performances, musical entertainment, and other cultural experiences are offered.

• Norrlands University Hospital (NUS) in Umeå provides specialized care to residents of the four northernmost counties, and research is central. The city has a rich variety of activities and culture. BT (basic training) is a goal-oriented education and a fixed-term employment, and we in Region Västerbotten have chosen that BT is a 12-month full-time job with us. We can take into account any recognition of time and if certain goals have already been achieved.

Through an overarching organization for basic training, we ensure access to placements and the quality requirements for content, competence assessment, supervision, and educational activities set out in the regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a BT doctor with us, you contribute knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe. You will participate in everyday healthcare, and the work is carried out under personal supervision by specialist doctors and ST doctors.

The service begins with 2 weeks of introduction, A-CPR, emergency medicine course, patient safety, healthcare hygiene, insurance medicine, laws and regulations, psychiatry, medication, training in journal and medication systems. Basic training within Region Västerbotten means 12 months of clinical service in emergency care, general medicine, and psychiatry. During the training year, clinical work is alternated with training days. Some of the training sessions are joint in the county while others are organized locally at each hospital.

Everyone undergoing BT has an appointed personal supervisor at all placements and a responsible main supervisor throughout the basic training.

Examinations are conducted through continuous assessments with assessment tools that are also used in specialist training and cumulative assessments made at the end of each service section. A final assessment is made by the main supervisor and an external evaluator where the continuous and cumulative assessments are collected.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to live and develop in Västerbotten, has a Swedish medical license upon starting BT, and needs to complete BT to advance in their career.

Clinical service as a doctor in the Swedish healthcare system is meritorious.

Other merits may include other relevant education, previous work experience, any profile orientation, and local anchoring. Special consideration is given to personal qualities and ability to collaborate.

Applicants must have good knowledge of the Swedish language, corresponding to level C1. Those who do not have Swedish as their first language may need to take a language test before employment.

Salary: Lycksele 44,800 SEK, Skellefteå 43,800 SEK, Umeå 42,800 SEK

Dialogue about any recognition of prior experience should take place during recruitment.

Basic training in Region Västerbotten begins with two weeks of introduction together with other BT and AT doctors.
