Operating Room Nurse - Trainee Program

Through good collaboration within the region, effective care chains, ongoing improvement efforts, and competent staff, we can offer high-quality care. As a trainee, there is an opportunity to receive an education grant during the training period (you apply for the education on your own merits but are guaranteed a place).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an operating room nurse with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment. You are responsible for the patient's safety, care, and nursing before and during the operation within your specialty in a technology-intensive environment. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize are important qualities. You work independently in close collaboration with the surgeon while being part of an operating team. Since Skellefteå Hospital is a teaching hospital, supervising students is also included.

There are several different specialties and a mix of planned and emergency activities that make the work varied and developing. We are a mix of new and experienced colleagues. You will have the opportunity to try working as an operating room nurse under supervision before further education. You will also have the opportunity to gain insight into our closest collaborating units such as the sterilization unit, ICU, and post-op. You create a good foundation for your studies, and we have a mutual agreement about working in the unit after completing the education. The trainee period is 4-6 weeks, during which you are lent from your regular workplace. After the trainee period and until the university education starts, you will return to your regular workplace in the region. If you are employed by another employer, we will adjust the employment according to your conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with curiosity and interest in operating room care. You have formal eligibility to apply for further education as a specialist nurse. We would like you to have experience in hospital nursing. You also have at least 1 year of professional experience as a nurse.

As a person, we see that you are responsible. You have a good ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team and contribute to the whole.
