We are now looking for a nurse who is new and curious - or senior and eager to learn! Do you want to see it all?

Lycksele Hospital is a small, modern, and well-equipped emergency hospital in Southern Lapland. Here, there are departments and clinics in areas such as surgery, radiology, internal medicine, rehab/stroke, ophthalmology, maternity/gynecology, psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and pediatrics. We also staff the county's ambulance helicopter. The hospital and the proximity to each other's operations provide a unique opportunity for development and learning across boundaries and a broad base to stand on. We maintain close cooperation between clinics and the care departments at the hospital.

We now offer a permanent position where you will work in one department for a period of six months, after which you will switch to the next - a chance to learn broadly before you decide! After two years, you choose which department you want to work in permanently. The setup can look as follows in the first two years, with individual planning taken into account.

Six months of service in the rehabilitation & stroke department:

The care places are distributed between the stroke area and general rehabilitation, but there are also orthopedic places for operated elderly patients.

Six months of service in the surgical-orthopedic department:

A wide variety of diagnosis groups are treated here. Elective care is primarily conducted in the form of hip, knee, and obesity surgery. The acute operations include abdominal observations and various types of trauma.

Six months of service in the medicine department:

This department has a general internal medicine focus where the variation of medical conditions includes cardiology, lung diseases, infections, and diabetes.

Six months of service in the emergency department:

This department receives and manages about 10,000 visits per year. A non-linear work approach provides good oversight and short waiting times.

You will be part of the work hours model that is the same for all departments and involves a reduction in working hours to promote recovery. Common to the departments are relatively short lengths of stay and teamwork. We work with a structured onboarding process and patient-centered care. There are discharge coordinators who handle discharges and discharge planning, and in some cases, contact nurses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work offers great variety and is very diverse in content as you will work within the various specialties of inpatient care. You will be part of the regular staff group at each clinic and work closely with other professional categories.

We apply the same working hours model across all care departments. The model provides a reduction in working hours while maintaining a full-time salary. The position involves day, evening, and night shifts according to a schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed nurse with an interest in specialized hospital care and its development. You easily adapt to new contexts where you collaborate with colleagues from different professional categories.

To thrive in the role, we believe you find change exciting and have a hunger for new knowledge. You are also communicative and enjoy getting to know the operations and the staff group.
