Special Educator for Preschool Area 4

In Preschool Area 4, we are focusing on the compensatory mission by recruiting an additional special educator. You will thus be part of a duo within our preschool area. You are an important part of the preschool organization!

Within Eskilstuna municipality, our preschools are divided into different preschool areas led by a management team with principals. Our area also includes an FSU, preschool teachers with special assignments that you as a special educator may collaborate with. The area consists of Torshälla's preschools: Staren, Gökvingegränd, Karamellen, Glömsta, and Chokladfabriken. Preschool Area 4 also includes Skiftinge Preschool, Sahlvägen Preschool, Årby, and Slottsbacken Preschool.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of special educator in Preschool Area 4, the focus is on supporting staff in early recognition of children's needs for special support. Since the area is staffed with two special educators, there are good conditions for working preventively and promote effectively in the preschools. With your special educational competence, you contribute to ensuring that all children, especially those in need of special support, have the opportunity to develop according to their needs and conditions.

The work is based on a consultative, coaching, and supportive approach. The assignment includes, among other things, conducting pedagogical assessments and evaluations together with staff, as well as providing support to principals in the application for additional funding/BIBASS. You support educators in meetings with guardians and collaborate with external actors such as habilitation and child health services.

The role may also involve training initiatives and leading projects and network groups at the area and administrative level, aiming to contribute to an equitable preschool in the municipality. As a special educator, you participate in overarching development work, such as language development projects, and have an important function in receiving children in need of special support as well as during transitions within and between preschools and further to school. The work takes place at the organizational, group, and individual levels with a clear preventive focus on developing the preschools' and the organization's working methods.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are at the end of your education or have already completed a special educational training, with a preschool teacher or earlier teacher degree as a foundation. We prefer that you have experience working with special educational issues within preschool. It is also advantageous if you have experience in mentoring colleagues and hold a B driver's license, as this facilitates movement between different preschools.

Flexibility is a natural part of your working method, and you adapt your planning according to the preschool's needs and the demands that different situations impose. The role requires both good collaboration skills and the ability to work independently, which you are comfortable with. The position also involves working in several different systems, which requires that you are comfortable with digital tools and have good computer skills.
