Healthcare Teacher Wanted

Do you want to work in education and be an important part of others' development? We want to expand our teaching staff in healthcare and social care and are now looking for two healthcare teachers. The adult education program includes basic and upper secondary education, special education for adults (Lärvux), and Swedish for immigrants (SFI). There are approximately 1350 study places available at the basic and upper secondary levels.

We are located at Drottninggatan 12 in beautifully designed premises, just a stone's throw from the transport center in Eskilstuna, with good commuting opportunities.

We are looking for two teachers for two different positions. One position is a permanent employment. The other position is a fixed-term employment starting immediately until October 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position, you will teach healthcare subjects at the upper secondary level within adult education. Your focus will be on supporting and teaching students at their current level. As a healthcare teacher, you will plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on governing documents. You will assess and validate students' knowledge. There is close collaboration with other colleagues in the work team, where you actively participate in the school's development work.

You will collaborate broadly in healthcare and social care issues, including with study and career counselors and other departments. As a healthcare teacher, you will prepare, plan, and follow up on students' APL (workplace-based learning) and make assessments based on set goals for the student's APL period. Collaboration with the Healthcare and Social Care College is also included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a high school education. If you have a qualification as a vocational teacher in healthcare and social care, we see it as a significant advantage. If you are not a qualified vocational teacher, we expect you to start studies for qualification as soon as possible after starting. It is advantageous if you are a trained nurse. Since you will be teaching and assessing various healthcare subjects, we expect you to have work experience in healthcare and social care. Experience teaching at the upper secondary level or in municipal adult education is a plus. You will adapt more quickly to the job if you have experience using a learning platform in your teaching, preferably Its Learning.

This position is suitable for you if you can motivate, understand, and involve students. You plan, teach, and assess independently. In the teaching role, you are driven and skilled at adapting your leadership to the situation. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working on development. The Labor Market and Adult Education Administration is responsible for labor market initiatives, social assistance, and adult education. The administration's mission is to guide residents in Eskilstuna to initiatives and education aimed at achieving self-sufficiency. The goal is that everyone who can work should work.
