Special Educator at Stålforsskolan

At Stålforsskolan, we are passionate about school development – and now you, as a special educator, have the opportunity to help shape our future! We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the further development of our special educational activities, based on the areas of development we have identified and the vision that our team has created together with the school management.

We strive for high quality in teaching and work closely with both students and teachers to create optimal learning situations for everyone. Our approach is characterized by a strong focus on accessible learning environments and how leadership and stimulation in teaching can be strengthened.

In the role of special educator, you will collaborate closely with the Student Health Team and provide support and guidance to our teachers. You will also be involved in student cases and responsible for conducting educational investigations. We already have one special educator and two special teachers, and together you form an important resource in supporting our students in the best possible way.

Seize the opportunity to be part of our development journey – and make a real difference in students' learning and future!

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a special educator, you are a central and driving part of the student health team. Your mission includes both investigative and developmental work, with a particular focus on preventive and health-promoting measures. You contribute to ensuring that students in need of special support receive an individualized, inclusive response and measures that lead to increased goal fulfillment.

You work closely with the work teams to identify students in need of extra adjustments or special support measures, which are primarily provided within the framework of regular teaching. Together with the teaching staff, students, and guardians, you follow up and evaluate the work.

In your investigative role, you support the implementation of educational investigations and are responsible for follow-up, analysis, and evaluation. In your developmental role, your tasks include:

  • Conducting educational initiatives based on identified needs
  • Providing guidance to the school's educators and work teams
  • Supporting the principal in analysis and development work
  • Contributing to the development and strengthening of the school's learning environments

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a teaching degree and teaching certification. You have a special education degree or are in the final stages of your education, and you have teaching experience. It is an advantage if you have experience in guidance and have previously worked in secondary school or high school. We value a strong pedagogical ability and a good understanding of what motivates and engages students with different needs. You also need to be able to collaborate closely with teachers and be involved in the development of teaching.

The special educational mission means that you often encounter complex issues, and therefore we are looking for someone who has a good insight into the mission and the work with special support and adjustments within regular teaching.

You thrive in a dynamic environment and want to actively contribute with your experiences of preventive, promoting, and remedial work to strengthen our team. As a person, you are skilled at building trusting relationships with students and see teaching and teaching development as a natural part of your mission. You are engaged, collaborative, and eager to initiate development projects that promote students' knowledge development.

If you want to be part of a developing, inspiring, and joyful workplace, then Stålforsskolan is the right school for you!
