The Children and Youth Reception and Day Care here in Nyköping is a pediatric unit for children and adolescents aged 0-18 years. Pediatric care is an inspiring form of care that is constantly evolving. We work with the vision "Sörmland's children, safe in our hands" and strive to have high competence among the staff and to always focus on the family's right to be involved in the care of their child.

Our unit consists of pediatric nurses, nurses, nursing assistants, play therapists, medical secretaries, and doctors. A dietitian, physiotherapist, and social worker are available at the reception at certain times.

We are now looking for a part-time play therapist.

Your tasks

The play therapy at the Children and Youth Clinic at Nyköping Hospital is a special educational activity in the hospital for children and adolescents (0-18 years). The work also includes siblings and parents/other relatives. This involves working in the play therapy facilities as well as in the day care department and the reception. It also includes preparations for and processing after healthcare contacts for children/adolescents with strong fears.

Through the play therapist, children/adolescents have the opportunity for play, stimulation, and processing based on an appropriate age and developmental level. As a play therapist, you will be part of several teams with different professional categories. To thrive with us, you should be outgoing, see opportunities, and take responsibility. You are used to working independently and structuring your work. It is important that you are flexible and can collaborate.

Your qualifications

Preschool teacher/leisure educator training preferably with special educational further training. Personal suitability is of great importance. Experience working with examination/treatment-anxious children in play therapy as well as knowledge of visual support is meritorious.

Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.
