Physical Education Teacher at Resursskolan in Strängnäs

Are you passionate about movement and activity? Are you a confident leader who wants to see our students succeed? Then you might be our new physical education teacher!

Resursskolan in Strängnäs is a municipal initiative where applications are made through Central Child and Student Health. The school has about 15 students from grades 4 to 9 with neuropsychiatric disorders, pronounced psychosocial issues, and significant mental health challenges. The school follows the national curriculum Lgr 22. We offer an educational experience that meets the students' special needs in small teaching groups and with a high teacher-to-student ratio. Students at Resursskolan are given the opportunity to develop based on their own conditions and needs through clear pedagogy and individualized teaching materials.

We are now looking for someone who wants to be part of our team!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a teacher for physical education and health instruction in grades 4-9, and the position will also include teaching in other subjects. The school building has suitable facilities and is close to nature, providing great opportunities for outdoor education.

The student groups are very small, which can be a challenge when teaching physical education and health. You will be part of the school's teaching team and together you will be responsible for planning, documenting, analyzing, evaluating, and following up on the students' development. The work involves close collaboration with other staff, student health services, parents, and external actors. Documentation and assessment of students' knowledge development is an essential part of the job, and it is highly relevant to continuously develop the teaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Qualification in physical education and health as well as in one or more other subjects. Broad subject qualifications are an advantage.
  • Documented experience working with students with high support needs, such as students with neuropsychiatric disorders.
  • Experience using IT as a support in work and documentation.
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a car.

We are looking for someone who is calm and confident, able to work independently and is flexible. You are solution-oriented and see obstacles more as a positive challenge than a problem. Furthermore, you are a good leader, easy to collaborate with, attentive to each student's needs, and have great patience. A key factor in this role is your ability to create positive relationships with students and your ability to collaborate with colleagues and guardians. You also have a strong interest in school development and want to continue to grow with us.

We place great importance on personal qualities and want you to share the municipality's values of respect, development, openness, and clarity.
